Orange Crush
"Orange Crush" is a post-modern song by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. It was released as the first single from the band's sixth studio album in 1988. It was not commercially released in the US despite reaching number one as a promotional single on both the Mainstream andModern Rock Tracks (where, at the time, it had the record for longest stay at number one with eight weeks, beating U2 ). It peaked at number 28 on theUK Singles Charts , easily making it the band's then-highest chart hit in Britain.
Postmodern TV Sitcoms
I researched into TV sitcoms that can be considered as postmodern, like 'The Simpsons' and tried to link them into some Intertextuality that makes the show postmodern. I then found this photo, which is a parody of Salvador Dali's well know 'melting clocks' painting.
While researching I also found this website which shows 'The Simpsons' in many other parodies and Inter-textual references, some of which are the Mona Lisa, The Beatles, Scarface, Andy Warhol and The Girl with the Pearl Earring.
